Aggies Earn Riders of the Week Awards

SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) – Seasoned UC Davis student athletes Jessie Rechs and Margaret Franke were named conference riders of the week in Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Jan. 28 release.
Rechs, a senior from San Diego, claims her second Fences Rider of the Week accolade on the season and third in her overall career. Going second in the event while riding Bear, captain Rechs scored an 85 for her equitation over the Fences in a thrilling matchup versus the Delaware State Hornets. She won against her Hornet opponent with a large 23-point differential and took home the Most Outstanding Performer award in the event.
Over on the Flat, Franke collects her first Rider of the Week nod of the season following her impressive slew of credentials from previous years of competition such as being named the conference's Flat Rider of the Year. With a fascinating 31-point difference, Franke and Otis played a hand in the 5-0 Aggie sweep on the Flat versus the Minnesota Crookston Eagles. Her performance was scored a brilliant 84, and she took home the Most Outstanding Performer award in the event.
In Fences, Rechs has tallied up six wins on the season, while Franke has collected seven victories on the Flat.
